WHAT IS AKOYA PEARLS?

The Akoya pearl is a saltwater cultured pearl from the Akoya oyster (Pinctada fucata martensii).

Akoya are considered to be the classic pearl used for necklaces and other pearl jewelry, with perfect round shapes, bright mirror-like luster and neutral colors, Akoya pearls are favored by most retailers and consumers as the classic pearl choice.



White Akoya Pearls
Akoya pearls range in size from 2.0-3.0mm up through 9.0-9.5mm, and very rarely, 9.5-11.0mm.
Top grade of White Akoya named as "Hanadama天女", but only certificated pearls can use this name.

Silvery Blue Akoya Pearls
Traditional Akoya pearl colors are most famously white, but also include natural Silvery-Blue and even Golden hues.
Top grade of silvery Akoya named as Madama 真多麻.

Gold Akoya Pearls
Only very few akoya pearls with this lovely golden color.
Top grade of Golden Akoya named as "Queen皇后", but only certificated pearls can use this name.
